FLONET/TRANS, by Waterloo Hydrogeologic, is the fastest and easiest 2-D finite-element groundwater flow contaminant transport model available. This powerful analysis tool allows you to simulate steady-state flow and time-varying transport in leaky, confined, or unconfined aquifers with heterogeneous and anisotropic properties.
FLONET/TRANS is ideal for applications such as estimating ssepage into an excavation or determining discharge from the face of a slope, predicting contaminant plume migration from UST’s or landfills, and calculating concentration breakthrough curves.
INPUT FEATURES
FLONET/TRANS features a fully-integrated interface that allows you easily build and refine the finite-element mesh, conveniently assign the model parameters, run the simulation and produce an impressive graphical display of results.
The model mesh can be easily refined on –screen using the graphical tools available to add or delete rows and columns;, or to stretch and deform the finite-element mesh to match the modem lithology. Irregularly shaped property zones are conveniently assigned independently from the finite-element mesh. Both flow and transport boundary conditions are accommodate for internal nodes and boundary nodes.
OUTPUT FEATURES
FLOES/TRANS display the modelling results as contours or color-shaded plots of equipotentials, streamlines and concentrations. Line contours can be customized by changing the contour interval, label location, or adding a contour line at any location.
Velocity vectors can also be displayed scalled or directional flow velocities. For transport modelling, concentration breakthrough curves can also be plotted for multiple observation points.
