Database Features:
AquaChem features a built-in database of common geochemical parameters that can be easily customized and configured to include an unlimited number of attributes per sample. Data entry is easy and versatile using either:
 An input form for individual sample records,
 A customizable spredsheet (one sample record per row), or
 Importing data from ASCII files. The databse is Y2K compliant and has standard database functionality for performing queries or adding and subtracting samples.
Data Analysis Features
AquaChem automatically calculates many useful parameters including water type, sum of anions and cations, ion balance, TDS, hardness, alkalinity, common ion rations, SAR, ESR, magnesium, hazard, and dissolved mineral. In addition, AquaChem also performas more advanced calculations including:
 Common statistics (minimum, maximum, average, dispersion, etc.)
 Similarity analyses sample parameters.
 Multi-step mixing of two samples
 Upper and lower tolerance and guideline limit exceedences
Graphical Analysis Features
AquaChem’s powerful analytical capabilities are complimented by a comprehensive selection of common geochemical plots including:

AquaChem is directly linked to the graphs, so that any changes to the database are immediately updated on the graphs. This also allows you to easily identify specific samples records on each plot. Other common features include:

 Complete selection of Windows True type fonts dor plot titles, legends, axis labels, and symbol labels
 Proportional symbol size using concentration value for any measured or calculated parameter
The PHREEQC Interface
AquaChem features a built-in graphical interface to the popular USGS geochemical modelling program PHREEQC for calculating equilibrium concentrations (or activities) of chemical species in solution and saturation indices of solid phases in equilibrium with a solution.
