This CD-ROM examines the following main topics: composition of air, gases and pressure, commercial gases, and maintaining air quality. Discussions include air as a mixture of gases made up of particles; the chemical composition of air and the location of gases throughout the atmosphere; how air supports life; how gases cycle through Earth's environment; how organisms relate to atmospheric gases; the respiratory system of mammals and how animals in general are affected by the environment; commercial gases and how air pressure and gases are used for fuel and in industrial processing; and the hazards associated with commercially used gases. Methods of detecting pollutants and determining their mass and weight are also outlined.
